The site is steeped in history and the buildings date back to the early 19th Century.

Number 1 Great Hampton Street was the former site of The Gothic Inn, from where the project gets its namesake. Originally a popular public house in its heyday, The Gothic Inn served the hard workers of the local factories in Birmingham since 1870, before closing its doors for the last time in the early 2000s.

Construction is now underway, and the first phase of this property development is expected to complete in early 2022.

The Lampworks has roots embedded in the Jewellery Quarter’s industrious history, with the site previously housing a brass foundry and furniture factory.
