Tom Gough is a valued member of our finance team. As a Finance Manager, he looks after the finances of our developments, making sure that “all things money in the business” are working well – from the accounting system to making payments.
Tom joined Cordia UK in February 2022, with 6.5 years of experience under his belt at accountancy firm, BDO UK LLP, working in both the financial reporting and external audit departments, as well as achieving the ACA qualification. He holds an MSc in Finance and Management and a BSc in Sports Technology from Loughborough University.

Why did you join Cordia UK?
I joined Cordia UK with the goal to help play a part in the regeneration and development of the Jewellery Quarter and surrounding areas in Birmingham. At the time I joined the company, I was living in a flat in the JQ about a 5-minute walk from our office on Great Hampton Street, so had a direct interest in seeing the area improve!
What does your role involve?
As the Finance Manager I am involved in all things money in the business. A typical month for me will involve managing our accounting system and its data, payroll, VAT, bank accounts, making payments, and inevitably pestering members of our team for signoffs and approvals!
What do you most love about what you do?
I really like the team we have working here at Cordia UK. Having a good relationship with everyone in our team makes the job so much easier and more enjoyable day-to-day. It may also sound strange to some people, but I do really love spreadsheets, so using Excel every day at work is a huge plus for me!
Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you.
I quite like doing sport in my spare time, mainly badminton and running. I have completed a couple of marathons (barely!), and currently represent Staffordshire County at badminton.
What are you most looking forward to at Cordia UK?
I can’t wait to see our projects start to be built and take shape, and see our local area transform for the better. With our office being right in the middle of our developments, it will be nice to also get a real-time view of this happening around us!
